How I do things

The wonderful people at Cubicle 7 have been nice to put up an interview Iain Lowson did with me. I talk about  making of the cover for the Dark Harvest anthology. (that Frankenstein monster with a train)

I know I described my process in the previous blog post in more detail, but this might be of interest to some as well. Maybe. Who knows? I don't. I hint at a secret exciting project too!

CAKE!

  2. Whoo, that's an old one. Nope, I'm afraid that's the only one I did, of cataphracts anyway.

  3. Jan,
have you done any work for Osprey or Ancient Warfare magaizne etc? By the way I looked at your Lord of the Rings art on deviantart portal - very, very inspiring. My sonny Jan (ok, we call him Jasio) is very inspired - he has his own blog - http://enciclopediamostrocica.blogspot.com

  4. Heh, I'm not quite Osprey material (yet? Hope so), but I have recently done my first illustration for the Medieval Warfare Magazine. Which reminds me I should put that up on DA, the issue has been out for a while now.

I'm glad my work's inspirational, I will check the monstrous blog out!

  6. Hello Jan,
Wonderful body of work! I also love how you describe your process. Stumbled onto your site looking into Pauldrons referenced in Cormac McCarthy's 'Blood Meridian'. (I wonder how you might do with a book of that nature....) I'm studying architecture. Fascinating to see how your images evolve. Thanks!
